My 1 year old jack russell suffers with quite a few food allergies and had been on an elimination diet for weeks. Before finding Durham animal feeds, he struggled with eating ANYTHING other than green beans and it was becomming a real chore trying to get him to eat. I was advised by the vet to just keep trying, offering him different brands etc.. which I did to no avail until I decided to try Durham minces.
Duck and rabbit are two meats he is able to eat without any skin flare ups or tummy upset. He's not that keen on the rabbit mince but is much more willing to eat Durhams Duck and Pumkin mince. I wouldnt say he "loves it" but he WILL eat it on his own without any coaxing which is an absolute blessing after so long struggling with his eating.
so it is 100% thumbs up from me and my little jack russell.. Thank You Durham animalfeeds!
I'd advise anyone with a struggling eater to at least give this mince a try. I had tried EVERYTHING from tinned, dry to home cooked as well as other brands of raw... and Durhams mince is the ONLY one he will touch.
For owners feeding raw to smaller dogs, i'd also advise owners to ALWAYS ALWAYS thoroughly check the mince for large bone fragments as you do find quite a few sharp bone shards in all the raw minces, including this one. Its just a precaution as these shards are large enough to cause damage to the walls of the stomach or intestines they can also cause blockages so just be aware raw feeding is not just "thaw, open and feed".. you must always check it before feeding your dog!
